Robert Berman started Rasta Imposta in 1992 when he created the Original Rasta Tam. The dreadlock hats became Rasta Imposta’s signature line as a successful headwear manufacturer.

In 1998, Rasta Imposta introduced a collection of costumes to complement its existing line of hats.
